After removing the director of the State Security Service, and also the Prosecutor General from their posts, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that the staff of the dismissed officials had been “working against” Ukraine, The Guardian reports.
Reuters claims that m ore than 60 employees, according to Zelenskiy, are operating against Ukraine in areas that are held by Russia.
According to him, 651 criminal cases including high treason and cooperation by officials from prosecutor’s offices, pretrial investigation teams, and other law enforcement organizations have been filed.
More than 60 members of the prosecutor’s office and the Ukrainian Security Service have remained in the occupied region and are waging war against the government, he emphasized.
Such atrocities, he said, “raise extremely severe questions” for the appropriate leaders, which would then “get a proper answer.”
